About Me
I have been "artistic" all my life... I have most likely tried out any art or craft you could think of! My lampworking life began sometime around 2005 with a one-day introductory class at Diablo Glass in Boston. From there, I found another lampwork artist, Kris Cole, who had a studio in her home. I spent many days there, and learned almost every skill I needed to know from her. I soon set up my own home studio (check out the "My Studio" page!). I enjoy spending the little free time I have in my studio, trying out new ideas and designs. Most of my time, however, is spent with my family- My husband, Mike has always supported my need to do some kind of art, and often encourages me to "drop everything" and spend some time in the studio. I also have two very creative children- John and Sarah. They both can frequently be found "helping" me with new designs and color combinations. My other "job" is at my children's elementary school as a Classroom Assistant in first grade.
I have been so very fortunate to learn from the following artists through courses taken at Playing With Fire! Studio in Rockland, ME:
Wes Fleming
Sara Sally LaGrand
Kim Fields
